POSITION: Counter Staff

DEPARTMENT: F&B -- Figs & Pigs--café at DCU Center

FLSA STATUS: Part Time

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has immediate openings for Counter Staff for the new restaurant attached to the DCU Center in Worcester, MA 01608. These are part time positions of 10-15 hours per week.

Summary

This position consists of taking food orders and serving customers and providing a pleasant experience for each guest.

Duties and Responsibilities

Take food orders and offer suggestions to enhance the guest's experience

Serve pastries and soups

Provide beverage service

Maintain clean dining area and rest rooms

Restock supplies and condiments as needed

Setup of the front line

Breakdown and cleanup of front line and dining area

Handle cash and credit transactions

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Must be TIPS Certified

Skills and Abilities

Strong customer service skills with positive attitude

Excellent organizational skills

Comfort working in a fast paced environment

Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position will require a large amount of standing, walking, stooping, and possibly heavy lifting

Other Qualifications

Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed

Must be able to speak, read and write English

Must have professional attitude and appearance

Must be at least 18 years old

Cash handling positions require a background check.

Starting Rate $11.00/hour
