Job Description

FLIR is seeking a Vertical Marketing Manager that enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Vertical Marketing Director in collaborating with sales, business development and product management to effectively direct the Portland, OR shared services team on the execution of channel marketing strategy and campaign development for the Americas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As Vertical Marketing Manager you will develop and execute channel marketing programs for specific key channel partners including but not limited to promotional programs, in-store merchandising signage or displays, retailer feature ads, events (trade shows, seminars, webinars), and channel-specific marketing support materials. Ensures consistency with brand guidelines.

  • Develop and manage channel partner marketing plans on a quarterly basis – marketing plans should align with strategic objectives with clear goals that have been agreed upon with internal stakeholders and key channel partners

  • Researches industry trends and provides competitive analysis

  • Drive creation of a wide range of marketing materials to support ongoing marketing programs with key channel partners. This effort will be in partnership with our corporate marketing teams, Creative, Demand Generation, Social, etc.

  • Ability to recommend and develop marketing programs that best leverage the partners focus/strengths

  • Manage, on an on-going basis, our company’s presence on key channel partner websites, ensuring brand consistency, proper company tone of voice, up-to-date product listings, etc.

  • Measures the effectiveness of channel marketing efforts and recommends areas of improvement

  • Reports on channel marketing projects’ progress to the Vertical Marketing Director

  • Overseeing day to day channel operations for the Americas

  • Understanding changing and differing priorities depending on business objectives and how these impact channel marketing

  • Recommends allocation of the channel marketing budget and identifies opportunities for optimal exposure

Requirements:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor undergrad degree in Marketing, Business or a related field

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years in a marketing role working with technology products

  • Experience in developing and managing channel marketing strategies and prioritizing numerous projects

  • Experience with B to B and consumer retail on handheld test products, especially consumer electronics, a plus

  • Excellent written communications with ability to compose compelling marketing copy for tech products

  • Must be available for travel – 15-20 business trips per year for tradeshows and internal meetings
