Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Software Engineering Intern – Xcelium Compiler in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

The candidate will join the Xcelium parser team. Our team develops software for the front end of the Xcelium simulator tools, the compiler that translates the SystemVerilog Hardware Description Language (HDL) into an executable intermediate form. We are extending and enhancing the compiler to better support our customers’ simulation needs.
We are looking for a software engineering intern with a passion for developing high-quality software.
You have strong object-oriented programming skills with proven experience in C++. You’re ready to expand your C++ skills in new areas, including C++11 and C++14. You can work with C code even through you prefer C++.
You have good communication skills as we work together as one team.
You have skills to become an effective developer in a large, complex code base. We look for solid understanding and application of algorithms, complex data structures, and Object Oriented Design patterns.
You have applied or learned some of the following techniques or tools: refactoring, unit testing, optimization strategies, source code management, code review, static analysis, code profiling.
You have good debugging skills and experience with debugging tools. You have used GNU gdb or other similar debuggers.
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or Computer/Electrical Engineering with a strong software development component.
